Feast your eyes on these wheels!
Throughout my adventures in Upstate NY, the all-new 2014 Subaru Forester XT Turbo climbed the steepest inclines, wound effortlessly through curving roads, and handled like a pro.
I can’t say enough good things about this car and the company that makes it. Simply put, Subaru loves their customers. And their customers love them back. What’s not to love?
For starters, the 2014 Subaru Forester 2.0XT models use a new turbocharged variant of the FA-Series BOXER engine that debuted in the Subaru BRZ sports car. It produces 250 horsepower at 5,600 rpm, accompanied by a broad torque curve that peaks at 258 lb.-ft. over a 2,000-4,800 rpm engine speed range. I took full advantage of every acceleration opportunity just to feel that turbo kick in!
The 2014 is also a 2013 Top Safety Pick+ thanks to features like Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and new Subaru EyeSight. Today, the EyeSight system let me know the car stopped at a light in front of me had proceeded to drive. I was distracted by a live woodchuck on the side of the road (silly me) and sat idle for a moment too long. It delivered a necessary yet gentle reminder to pay attention and get moving.
Striking new rims adorn beefier 18-inch alloy wheels.
The impressive 8.7″ of ground clearance is downright sassy looking!
The “hawkeye” headlights and a slightly taller, hexagonal shape grille anchor the bolder front-end design. The 2.0XT models get an exclusive aggressive looking sport design front bumper, along with a one-piece mesh style grille and, on the 2.0XT Touring, chrome-rimmed fog light bezels. Gorgeous.
The 2014 Forester comes with a host of new amenities and conveniences, along with more upscale luxury features on high-line models. Read what Car and Driver had to say.
Driving it this week was a dream. I hate to give it up!
LOVE. It’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru — and what puts THIS Subaru in the running for my next vehicle.
